CAROTID ULTRASOUND
Carotid ultrasound is a type of imaging that involves using ultrasound technology to examine and evaluate the carotid arteries. This is a non-invasive exam, and can be used to detect narrowing of the carotid arteries. Carotid artery disease is caused by the buildup of plaque in the carotid arteries and if left untreated, could potentially lead to stroke.
The Vascular Lab at Vascular Surgical Associates is fully accredited, and features advanced equipment and staff members who are specially trained in vascular ultrasound technology.
